Five Easy Ways To Enhance Your Body's Metabolism
#1 Don't Forget Breakfast
The morning meal jump starts your metabolism and helps to stop bingeing afterward in the day. A mug of coffee does not count as breakfast - the caffeine and additional sugar may offer you a little bit of energy and stifle your appetite for a little while it is sure to back fire into extreme hunger and you could be much more likely to eat too much later. Breakfast should consist of both complex carbohydrates like whole grain (granola or oatmeal), along with some food that contains protein and fat (low-fat yogurt or milk), will keep your energy levels steady and hunger level in check.
#2 Eat Frequently
Get into the habit of dining every three to four hours or at a minimum of four times each day. Eating frequently stabilizes blood sugar, when blood sugar drops too low you want to eat...a lot. By keeping your blood sugar even you are able to be in charge of your appetite and keep your metabolic rate high. When you go a lot of hours without eating your body will compensate by slowing down to preserve energy...this outcome hurts your weight loss efforts.
#3 Eat protein at every single meal
Protein will be able to help to reduce your appetite, it takes more energy and time to process, as a result you are full a longer time than when you eat carbohydrates only. Research shows that eating more protein is able to help you lose weight without cutting calories. Try these protein suggestions: turkey on whole wheat; hummus and pita; vegetarian chili; fruit and nuts; or protein snack bars which should contain 12 or more grams of protein.
#4 Don't Snack
Many of us reach for a snack for immediate energy after we are feeling worn-out. But don't switch true hunger with exhaustion. If you are feeling exhausted go for a 15-20 minute stimulating walk. This will increase your heart rate and provide you a boost of energy. Follow it up with a huge glass of chilled water. If you are sincerely hungry have a snack that contains complex carbs and protein like; whole wheat crackers and peanut butter or cheese.
#5 Eat enough calories for your body's needs
Consuming too few calories slows your metabolism down the same exact way not eating often does. If you intend to lose extra body weight, don't slash your calorie consumption too severely. Instead, cut out several of the unnecessary foods in your diet plan - foods like soda, juice, packaged goods or candy. Processed meals are usually very high in extra fat and empty calories and low in nutrients, minerals and fiber.
